EIS for proton conductivity measurement

The impedance spectrometer has been specially optimized for the investigation of the proton conductivity measurement (PCM) of polymer electrolyte membranes (PEM). These membranes play a decisive role in fuel cells and other energy applications, as they enable proton transport and thus influence the performance of the cell.

The analyzer has been extended by a measuring adapter with four electrodes, which is specially designed for membranes with a typical size of 1.5 cm x 4.0 cm. This enables precise and reproducible measurement of proton conductivity under different conditions.

To ensure reproducible measurement conditions, the PCM is equipped with an integrated humidifier and sample heater. This allows temperature and humidity conditions to be controlled and adjusted to ensure accurate measurement results.
