In 2006, the V04 version of the impedance spectrometer was specially developed to enable the analysis of PEM fuel cell cells with an area of 100 cm2. The extension was necessary because larger active areas led to lower impedances, which required a more precise analysis. This further development enabled the impedance spectrometer to meet the requirements for the investigation and characterization of fuel cells even better.
